Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the IGAD Unified Visa digital platform. By accessing or using our services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

1. Definitions
  • “IGAD” refers to the Intergovernmental Authority on Development, the governing body of the Unified Visa platform.
  • “Platform” refers to the IGAD Unified Visa website, mobile applications, and digital services.
  • “User” or “Applicant” refers to any individual applying for or using the IGAD Unified Visa services.
2. Eligibility
  • Applicants must provide accurate and complete information.
  • Applications are subject to approval by IGAD and Member State immigration authorities.
  • The Unified Visa is intended solely for legitimate travel, tourism, education, or business purposes as permitted by IGAD policies.

3. User Responsibilities

By using the IGAD Unified Visa platform, you agree to:

  • Submit truthful, accurate, and lawful information.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials.
  • Use the platform only for lawful purposes.
  • Refrain from tampering, hacking, or misusing the system.
4. Visa Issuance & Limitations
  • Approval of a visa application is subject to the discretion of IGAD Member States’ immigration authorities.
  • A granted visa does not guarantee entry into a Member State; border officials have final authority.
  • The visa may have restrictions such as duration of stay, permitted activities, and renewal conditions.
5. Payments, Fees & Refunds
  • Visa application fees must be paid in full during submission.
  • Payments are processed through certified third-party providers.
  • Non-Refundable Applications: Visa fees are generally non-refundable once submitted, as they cover processing, verification, and administrative costs.
  • Refund Exceptions: Refunds may only be granted in the event of:
    • Duplicate payments made in error.
    • Technical/system error that prevented successful submission.
    • Payment processed but application not initiated in the system.
  • No Refund for Rejections: If a visa application is denied, the applicant is not entitled to a refund.
  • Processing Time: Approved refunds will be credited back to the original payment method within 30 working days.
  • Refund Requests: Applicants must submit refund requests with transaction details to IGAD Support within 7 calendar days of the transaction.

6. Data Privacy

Use of the platform is subject to the IGAD Privacy Policy, which explains how personal data is collected and protected.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, trademarks, and materials on the platform are the property of IGAD and are protected by applicable laws. Unauthorized use is prohibited.

8. Limitation of Liability

  • IGAD is not liable for any delays, denials, or losses resulting from incorrect information provided by applicants.
  • IGAD does not guarantee uninterrupted access to the platform.
  • Users are responsible for ensuring compliance with local immigration laws of Member States.

9. Suspension & Termination

IGAD reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts in cases of:

  • False information.
  • Misuse of the platform.
  • Fraudulent or unlawful activity.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws and regulations of IGAD Member States. Any disputes shall be subject to IGAD’s jurisdiction and applicable treaties.

11. Amendments

IGAD may modify these Terms from time to time. Updated versions will be posted on the official website.
