Who We Are

IGAD (Intergovernmental Authority on Development) is a regional bloc of eight East African countries working together to promote peace, stability, development, and regional integration.

Founded in 1986 and revitalized in 1996, IGAD addresses issues from drought and conflict to economic growth and environmental sustainability.

Mission:

To promote regional cooperation and sustainable development through peacebuilding, economic integration, and resilience-building.

Vision:
